Il Leone is a wood fired Neapolitan pizza garden on Peaks Island, Maine, offering a unique island dining experience just a 15 minute ferry ride from downtown Portland, with ferries running nearly every hour. Il Leone’s pizza is 100 percent naturally leavened with a 72 hour sourdough fermentation, and produced using ingredients sourced from Maine organic farms and Italy - “wood fired pizza magic,” according to the New York Times!
Il Leone is seeking full time and part time FOH staff for our upcoming 2025 season.
Our front of house staff are the primary point of contact with all Il Leone customers. Stationed in a farmers market tent at the front of our outdoor pizza garden, front of house staff take all food/drink/gelato orders from customers and expo pizzas when ready. Front of house staff ensure all customers are treated with the highest standards of hospitality, fully explain any/all menu items, help manage wait times, assist in keeping the front area and picnic tables clean and participate in daily setup/cleanup. FOH team members also help manage/stock beverage and gelato inventory and pick up deliveries from the ferry dock as needed.
Perks include working in a very special outdoor atmosphere on a beautiful Maine island in the summer alongside an incredible group of people, with opportunities for daily beach breaks and dips in the ocean. Ferry tickets are included as well if commuting from Portland and a pizza on the house is provided for all team members every shift. And great tips!
Some experience in food service/hospitality is required.
