We are seeking an experienced General Manager to join Lenora, a new restaurant in Portland, Maine. The ideal candidate would meet the required experience listed below in addition to being passionate about the Hospitality Industry, energetic, organized, and adept at creative problem solving. This will be an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role prior to opening the doors for business in early 2023.

About Lenora:

Lenora is located the Old Port at 2 Portland Square, and will be serving Mexican style street food with an agave forward cocktail program. Lenora will be open daily and operate a café-style breakfast, lunch, dinner & late-night service. Hospitality and exceptional service in a casual neighborhood atmosphere will be at the core of it all.

About the General Manager Role:

The GM will lead all aspects of the daily restaurant operations and be responsible for leading a positive and service-focused work culture. They will be in charge of the development, support, and training of their team. A successful General Manager will oversee all decisions, processes, and systems within the restaurant. The GM will be the central person responsible for guiding the new restaurant and its employees through the opening phases to ensure that Lenora makes a positive impact on the neighborhood.

The GM reports directly to Director of Operations, Executive Chef, Human Resources and will have the full support of and access to the entire ownership team.

Compensation + Benefits:

- Salary is competitive and based on experience

Required Experience:

- 3 + years in a previous General Management role strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining strong customer relationships, and effectively managing customer issues and complaints

- Extensive experience with restaurant systems and software:

- POS, Toast preferred

- Accounting & Payroll

- Scheduling

- Inventory management

- Experience routinely managing restaurant facilities, equipment maintenance and related vendor relations

- Skilled at maintaining effective communication with staff, peers and upper management. As well as proven capabilities for handling sensitive conversations with poise and professionalism.

- Demonstrated superior organizational skills with a strong focus on obtaining results
