The Summer Camp for Girls is a small business in Readfield, ME. The Summer Camp is a nonprofit, residential summer camp for urban and rural girls, ages 7-18, from low-income and foster homes. We provide an inclusive, supportive and safe environment in which campers explore fun, challenging and educational experiences, learn from positive role models, and have the opportunity to build skills for life year after year. We stand against discrimination and celebrate the diversity of our campers and staff. Donor support provides full camperships for each girl every summer

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Food Director to join our team from June-August. As the Assistant Food Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering quality food to our camp community of 100 people. Duties:
- Responsible for daily preparation and cooking of food for camp community of 100
- Creating menu and dietary options for restrictions/allergies and that fits the requirements for the Summer Food Service Program.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Handle food safely and adhere to food safety standards
- In charge of inventory control and restocking supplies in collaboration with food ordering personnel
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient shift management
- Help with dishwashing and cleaning duties
Experience/Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food industry
- Serve Safe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain the certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Benefits:
- Starting pay at $21.00/hour, negotiable based on experience.
