A Morning in Maine Sailing Tours is looking to fill all positions

We are looking for ticket booth staff, deckhands and relief captains for a busy day charter business in Rockland. We operate every day all season–mid-May to mid-October, weather permitting–running 2-4 trips per day depending on demand. Vessel is a 55’ LOA custom-built Pete Culler designed wooden ketch. We are a locally-owned and operated business.

Morning in Maine is a beautiful wooden classic and a SUPER fun boat to sail. We always set the sails and will turn off the engine in a breeze of 8 kts or more. Crew get lots of wheel time, and the captain does a lot of the “tour guide” duties. Rockland Harbor and its breakwater make for fun and scenic harbor sailing, with Owl’s Head Light and the islands of Muscle Ridge Channel nearby. We are excited to run trips this summer to our closest island preserve, Monroe Island, for hiking and picnics, with an opportunity for crew to explore hundreds of acres of uninhabited pristine land.

May, early June, September and a bit of October, days are usually 6-9 hours, and from late June through August we add on sunset sails and work up to 13-hours/day. It’s a great opportunity for a hard-working individual who wants to make full-time pay in just 3-4 days during the peak summer season, or for relief crew with more experience who would prefer to work 1-2 days a week and scratch that sailing itch.
