OUTDOOR & FITNESS CENTER ASSOCIATE
Pineland Farms Outdoor Recreation Department | Located at 32 Farm View Dr. New Gloucester, Maine
Job Summary:
An Outdoor & Fitness Center Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service in our rental and sports gear shop. Cashiering, answering phone calls, and providing information about our recreation opportunities at our front desk is required. XC ski, disc golf, and/or other recreation experience is preferred. Join us in our new fitness facility as we continue to grow and offer even more fitness & recreation opportunities to our community!
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Cashiering and front desk help.
Ticket and rental sales.
Assigning season passes.
Selling merchandise apparel and waxes.
Recording upcoming lessons and activities.
Answering phone calls – trail conditions and knowledge.
Help with getting customers the proper rental equipment.
Properly size equipment to the customer to ensure a fun enjoyable experience.
Record and inventory rental equipment as it is rented and returned.
Keep rental room, front desk, and shop tidy, clean, and efficient.
Assist and run different programs such as; group snowshoe outings, and team building activities. While providing a comfortable and fun environment for the customers.
Ski Lessons (preferred but not required):
Looking for xc ski instructors who have the ability to lead private and group lessons.
Teaching experience is preferred.
Have proficiency in skate skiing and classic skiing techniques.
Must be personable and able to convey knowledge to the skier in a way they can understand and learn.
Requirements:
Have a can-do attitude.
Have a willingness to learn.
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
Must be able to clearly communicate with customers and staff.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently, in a team-oriented environment.
Must work well with and be comfortable with the public.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule nights and weekends.
Salary & Benefits:
Starting wage of $16/hour
