Freightliner of Maine Inc is Growing!

We are looking for a Service Manager at our Bangor location.

We are a family owned, fast-paced Freightliner, Western Star, ThermoKing, and Mitsubishi dealer with locations from Houlton to Westbrook, Maine. We are open two shifts, five days a week, one shift on Saturday. FOM is currently Elite Support Certified in all areas of Parts, Service, and Sales at our Bangor location. Elite Support includes facility, procedural, and culture changes, as well as improving a customer first experience.

Service Manager Responsibilities:

Candidates are expected to provide direction to service personnel including Service Foreman, Service Writers and Warranty Administrators. Delegating assignments with Shop Foremen according to technician ability and answer questions concerning present and future jobs are everyday tasks. Must be able to lead a department while maintaining a clean, safe, and profitable work area. Other responsibilities include working with vendor partners through warranty, policy, and troubled vehicle repairs/diagnostics. Further, this position will work with Director of Service w various facility improvements. In addition to job duties, candidates must be organized, clear communicators, a team player, and willing to take on new tasks. Attention to detail is a must.

Service Manager Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty truck/engine repair and installation. Candidates must be able to communicate with Shop Foreman and Technicians at a high level.

Familiarity with Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, CAT, Cummins, Eaton, and Allison products.

Two years experience in management.

Ability to work with Shop Foreman and technicians to troubleshoot and diagnose service issues and resolve complaints.

Ability to listen, communicate effectively and resolve conflict with customers, employees and co-workers.

Experience in employee supervision and personnel administration preferably in a service technician/management environment.

Ability to read and create instructions, work orders, and specifications and schedule jobs in the shop when necessary.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to operate personal computer and Company software programs.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Goal oriented, results focused.

Positive focus on customer service and satisfaction.

Valid Driver License required, CDL preferred.

Work with Safety Officer to comply with Company safety goals and procedures.

Maintain a clean and orderly shop.

Work with department personnel to have daily huddles planning for the workload of the day.

Join Company employees on joint sales/service calls when needed.
