job detailsjob summary:Our client in northern Maine is looking to add a Quality and Safety Supervisor to their growing team. Candidates must come equipped with a BS Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineer, with 4 years of manufacturing experience. Actively promote and uphold safe work practices across the mill, actively participating in safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors.

Conducts monthly safety meetings and conducts safety audits.

Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies, swiftly addressing any issues to maintain a secure work environment for employees.

Provides leadership and guidance to both salaried and hourly employees, fostering employee involvement in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.

Ensures hourly employees receive adequate training to support departmental activities and meet future workforce needs.

Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and the collective agreement, implementing necessary measures when required.

Collaborates closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure the availability of quality products for customers.

Investigates quality issues and determines the appropriate handling of inventory affected.

Supports technical services in addressing quality concerns and customer inquiries.

Ensures departmental compliance with ISO standards.

Participates in daily mill production activities and attends relevant meetings as necessary.

Assists in Product Stewardship initiatives.

Contributes to the implementation of Food Safety Policy processes.

Rotates responsibility for weekend coverage.

Is tasked with reporting any issues with the food safety management system to designated personnel, who are responsible for initiating and documenting corrective actions.
