Position Title: Data Management Technician (CL2) Campus: Fort Kent Department: Admissions - KADMS Bargaining Unit: COLT Salary/Wage Band: B23 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday. Occasional evening, early mornings, weekends or holidays may be required. Location: Fort Kent ME Statement of the Job: Per Collective Bargaining Agreement Internal Candidates May Apply starting March 27, 2024 External Candidates are Welcome to Apply on or after April 4, 2024 The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking applicants for the position of Data Management Technician (CL2). This is a full time, hourly position that provides support and assistance within the Admissions Department. The regular on campus office hours will be 8:00-4:30 with the occasional need to work evenings, early mornings, weekends or holidays to assist with campus events. Operates complex and integrated Student Information Systems (MaineStreet/PeopleSoft, Salesforce, ImageNow, and other systems) which includes management of all data input and output - reviews all information entered by various sources for accuracy.

Works closely with Shared Processing Center on data management and coordinates all mailings to include acceptance packets. Responsible for reporting major problems to the supervisor.

Process all documents through ImageNow - reviews and processes every document associated with every application for admissions. Determines if documents are official or not official status, ensures that all documents are being processed according to a set of rules related to document processing.

Supervise up to 6 work student employees. Manage the hiring and training of all student employees. Manages and is responsible for their daily work assignments.

Manage budgetary areas for processing all department bills/invoices to include assurance that bills are being paid on time and are accurately processed.

Prepare Student Visa documentation for all incoming international students - review 1final documentation, enter all relevant information into SEVIS, and oversee the process of mailing documentation to students overseas.

Acts are onsite general office manager - oversees all office functions related to data management and day-to-day functioning of the front office. Final decision maker in the absence of admissions staff during peak recruiting seasons.

Oversee Campus Visit Scheduling - coordinates scheduling for over 100 individual and group campus visits yearly, which includes scheduling with a variety of offices on campus, faculty, tour guides, and lunches.

The starting rate is $19.59 for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Qualifications:

Required:

Six months of related specialized training beyond highschool

Data processing experience

Experience utilizing and managing databases

Ability to compose, edit and review various types of correspondence and documents

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

Experience working in an academic or university setting

Proficiency in Microsoft Officesuite and other software applications
