We're on the lookout for a dedicated Lead Banquet Server to play a central role in orchestrating unforgettable events and elevating our guests' experience.As a Lead Banquet Server, you will showcase your expertise in banquet service, ensuring seamless coordination during events at our picturesque venue. Lead and inspire the banquet service team, setting the standard for service quality and attention to detail. Craft an exceptional atmosphere for our guests, ensuring each event is a memorable affair. Transition smoothly between different banquet roles, ensuring consistency and excellence in event operations.We are a family-owned independent hotel, committed to providing unparalleled experiences against the backdrop of Bar Harbor's beauty. As a Lead Banquet Server, you'll be an integral part of shaping the success of our events.You will be working your magic on a full-time seasonal basis from Spring to Fall. Your schedule will be 32 to 40 hours a week. Weekends, nights, and holidays are a must. The starting wage is $20 an hour, with the potential for $30 an hour for the right candidate.Why you want to work with us:

Here are some more details:Job Duties:

Greeting guests as they arrive to the event and directing them to the right table or seat

Making sure guests are comfortable by answering questions, taking their orders, ensuring special requests and instructions are relayed to the kitchen and bar, and serving the food and beverages

Circle around the event with trays of appetizers and beverages easily accessible to the guests

Pointing guests in the right direction for necessary services and features of the event

Giving tours of the event location to guests so they are comfortable with the environment

Supporting other staff members who may need help in order to maintain guest satisfaction

Keeping guests and staff members safe by following safety and quality regulations

Job Responsibilities:

Previous experience as a server is preferred

Needs to meet state minimum age requirements (if alcohol will be served)

Courteous, professional, and attentive to guests of the events

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: stand for long periods of time, climb stairs, carry heavy objects

Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills

Work as part of a team to maintain guest satisfaction

Follow instructions provided for each specific event

Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays

CPR training would be beneficial for this position

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the property depending on where the events are being held.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

Must be able to work early mornings, late nights and unpredictable hours, including weekends and holidays.

Required Education and Experience

No specific education required.

2 years of server experience
