Rewarding Opportunity to Join Region’s Center for Thoracic Oncology in Maine Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a Thoracic Oncology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our busy program housed within Northern Light Cardiothoracic Surgery in Bangor, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for an advanced practitioner who is looking for a professionally challenging, collaborative team environment! Position Details:

Oversee referrals for all thoracic patients and present to surgeons

Prepare information and background on patients to be presented at Thoracic Oncology Review and Thoracic Oncology Committee meetings

Provide full spectrum of patient care including informing them of pathology results, ordering referrals to oncology and pulmonology, notifying PCP and other internal/external providers of pathology results, meeting all patients and their families on behalf of surgeons to inform of post-op care plan, and fielding calls from other providers

Office patients in for chest tube removal, thoracentesis, and wound care

Round and review complex patients to ensure adequate post-op care
