Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical CenterDepartment: Interventional ServicesPosition is located: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical CenterWork Type: Full TimeHours Per Week: 36.00Work Schedule: 5:00 AM to 5:30 PMThis position is eligible for a $1,000 (minus tax) sign on bonusSummary:The Patient Service Representative I is a support position and is responsible for a variety of activities related to exemplary customer service. The primary assignment for this position is patient check-in and unit secretary functions in the prep & recovery area. The Patient Service Representative I, supports patient needs, as well as assisting medical providers, clinical staff, and leadership. Activities may include but are not limited to answering phones and appropriately directing them, assisting with the scheduling process and ensuring that proper resources are aligned, maintaining patient lists that allow for facilitation of care, and assisting with all aspects of medical records including the archival and retrieval of patient images. The PSR I may work with a fair amount of independence.Responsibilities:Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. 24 months of relative experience required.Medical terminology certificate or completion of medical terminology course within 12 months of hire. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a proficiency in computer skills with a focus on the Microsoft Office Suite required. A minimum of one year of verifiable customer service experience preferred; a minimum of one year of secretarial experience, preferably in the medical field;knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) required. Must be self-directed to independently and successfully handle multiple priorities. Must present a pleasant, friendly, approachable and professional demeanor at all times. Must be able to speak and read English clearly using correct grammar and vocabulary. Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and stretching, hearing /verbal/visual acuity, ability to keyboard for extended periods of time.Other Information:Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. 24 months of relative experience required.
