Responsibilities include developing, planning, and supervising the instruction of patients in various therapeutic activities as part of a multi-disciplinary active treatment program. In collaboration with other professional personnel, develops, plans, and administers specific treatments adapted to the assessed need of individual patients. Clinical supervision is exercised over program areas and paraprofessional staff as assigned. Work is performed under limited supervision. REPRESENTATIVE TASKS :

Ability to assess and analyze patient performance, values, life goals and functional abilities in order to identify needs and recommend treatement discharge services.

Implements individualized patient program in group and individual sessions in order to provide meaningful activity and develop effective treatment programs.

Demonstrates key OT concepts within the OT scope of practice in order to provide education, consultation and support patients, staff, medical providers and natural supports to enhance patient outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of a license to pratice Occupational Therapy as determined and issued by the Maine Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.Maintenance of NBCOT certification preferred.Agency information:Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) (https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/ddpc) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving the entire State of Maine that provides services for people with severe mental illness.
