Supplemental InformationThe Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) is responsible for fairly and efficiently collecting state tax revenues to fund public services, to regulate charitable gaming and the sale of alcoholic beverage and tobacco, and to support state agencies in the collection of overdue debts. Collectively, each program, unit, division and group work together to provide the core services to taxpayers of the State of Louisiana and stakeholders of the agency. LDR is comprised of the following groups: Tax Collection, Charitable Gaming, Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), Debt Recovery, and Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Commission.The Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control (ATC) is responsible for overseeing the alcoholic and tobacco industries within the state. The office is comprised of four divisions: Administrative, Business, Legal and Enforcement. ABOUT THIS POSITION: The incumbent in the ATC Agent role will be responsible for conducting extensive criminal history and background checks on beer and/or liquor permit applicants, performing routine physical inspections of applicant and/or licensed alcoholic beverage and tobacco outlets in assigned areas to ensure compliance with state and local laws and collecting fees and penalties on new applications, permits and delinquent renewals.Applicants who possess a current P.O.S.T. certification should attach their certification when their application is submitted.How to Apply:Applicants must have Civil Service test scores for 2100-Protective Services Exam (PSE) in order to be considered for this vacancy unless exempt by Civil Service rule or policy. LDR- LA. R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue ("LDR") to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform his job duties. If you are given a conditional offer of employment, a criminal history records check will occur before your first day of work. The check requires submission of your fingerprints that will be run through national and state databases to determine if any criminal offenses are connected to your name.
