The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport is dedicated to empowering young adults through education, leadership development, and hands-on construction training. As a YouthBuild Construction Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring program participants as they gain valuable construction skills while working on real-world projects that benefit the community.What You’ll Do:Lead & Train – Supervise, coach, and mentor YouthBuild participants in hands-on construction training, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Oversee Projects – Manage construction site operations, coordinate workflow, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure Safety – Enforce OSHA and workplace safety regulations while fostering a culture of responsibility and teamwork.
Collaborate – Work closely with program staff, community partners, and local contractors to enhance training opportunities.
Teach Skills – Provide instruction in carpentry, framing, drywall, roofing, and other construction trades.What We’re Looking For:Experience – 3+ years in construction, carpentry, or a related trade, with leadership or training experience preferred.
Certifications – OSHA 10 or 30, First Aid/CPR preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Communication – Strong ability to engage and motivate young adults from diverse backgrounds.
Problem-Solving – Ability to troubleshoot construction challenges and adapt to dynamic work environments.
