QualificationsThe Accounting Coordinator supports the Assistant Bursar in the daily operations and management of the LSUS student revenue cycle by assisting with a wide range of administrative and accounting functions. This will primarily consist of daily cash reconciliation, student account analysis, ledger account reconciliations, and journal entries. In addition, the Accounting Coordinator serves as a point of contact for student accounts.Responsibilities and dutiesWork closely with the Assistant Bursar to assist with oversight, supervision, and reconciliation of the following:
Student Financial Advising inclusive of the Nelnet Tuition Financing Plan for a student population of 9,000+
Regular reconciliation of Nelnet Tuition Financing Plan with LSUS student accounting system
Monthly Student Invoicing support and analysis regarding various LSUS Partnership Agreements
Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing cycles by completing relevant revenue cycle reconciliations
Review student/customer credit balances to determine refund eligibility
Research and resolves questions from students related to billing, outstanding balances, and tuition payment plans
Manage accounts receivable collections
High level military interaction, including military tuition exemption, tuition assistance, and submitting invoices to AI portal
Perform other duties and assists with special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven premium customer service experience
Ability to think creatively and outside of the box
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
Experience in an institution of higher education preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables and working with complex functions and formulas
Ability to handle detailed, high-volume work with varying time constraints
Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a small team
