If so, look no further – Ingram Barge Company is looking to bring new hire deckhands onboard!                                                      Before applying, please note:These positions are located in both our Port Allen, LA and Reserve, LA fleets. Job assignment is based off the candidates location to each fleet. These positions are fleet work, which does require you to work a schedule of 10/5 or 14/7, with the benefit of going home every night. Before applying, please take into consideration that this is not a live aboard position. Due to daily commuting requirements, we are seeking applicants that live within 45 minutes of either Port Allen or Reserve. Job DescriptionAssist deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tighten ratchets, sweep and shovel barges)Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)Assist with lockingCarry rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses and linesWork outdoors for extended periods of time in weather conditions such as heat/cold & rain/snowCheck barges for water and leaks – which at times requires climbing into confined spacesUpkeep of vessel appearance includes sooging (washing), chipping and paintingAssist the Engineer as requestedPractice safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systemsParticipate in safety drills and auditsPerform other related duties as assigned or requested
