Construction Coordinators with Electrical, Instrument and Cable Tray experience - onsite positions in Plaquemine.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Licensing: No licensing is required for this position.Experience: This position requires 10-15 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience. Generally responsible for performing all aspects of construction management for moderately complex engineering assignments. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to insure contractor’s activities are planned and executed with safety first.

Familiarity with and utilizing department standards.

Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task.

Technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes.

Promoting continued relationships with clients.

Participating in field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.

Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.

Providing on-site assistance during startup.

Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.

Consulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.

Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.

Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input.

Reviewing construction specifications.

Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.

Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.

Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.

A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.

Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.

Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.

Ability to handle stress with poise.

Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.

Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members.

Ability to set priorities.

Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good presentation skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.

Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat
