Mechanic II (Vibration Millwright Tech)

Description:

Gathers and analyzes vibration data on rotating equipment throughout the refinery in a safe and effective manner.

Provides continuous vibration monitoring on major rotating equipment.

Gathers monthly vibration readings on rotating equipment in each complex.

Analyzes data to determine condition of equipment.

Generates monthly reports on each area and creates notifications on equipment needing repairs.

Assists with determining root cause failure analysis.

Makes necessary changes in SAP whenever equipment is changed or replaced.

Creates necessary files to store equipment repair sheets.

Assumes responsibility for installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment within the refinery.

Collects oil samples and send out for analysis on a monthly basis.

Proficient in the use of micrometers, dial indicators, laser alignment and various tools used to install and measure the equipment.

Ensures that all personnel and equipment are working in a safe manner by following guidelines and procedures.This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you will be eligible for overtime pay.Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum two (2) years of machinist or rotating equipment experience, including one (1) year of vibration experience required.

Minimum two (2) years’ experience installing, repairing and maintaining rotating equipment in petrochemical environment required.

Valid Driver’s license required.

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment data books and maintenance manuals required.

Ability to work call-outs and unscheduled overtime which includes nights, weekends and holidays required.

Level I Vibration Training Certification preferred.

Knowledge of how to measure using precision instruments such as inside/outside micrometers, Vernier calipers and dial indicators preferred.All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
