Title: Furniture Truck Delivery Driver
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Harahan, LA and Jefferson / New Orleans metro area.
Hours: 7am -4pm
Job Purpose: To make furniture deliveries and pickups to/from customers.
The Delivery Driver will perform manual lifting and driving work. Delivery Driver works as part of the delivery team in providing delivery and pickup services to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivers furniture and merchandise to customers at different locations, as required.
Driver is responsible for accurately loading delivery vehicle.
Piece counts must be verified when loading and delivering.
Obtain proof of delivery via customer signature upon delivery verifying number of boxes delivered.
Pick up boxes to be returned from customers of different locations, as required. Driver has to accurately write down number of boxes being picked up.
Maintains files, records and routines needed to insure the efficient operation of
delivery and pickups.
Keep truck clean inside and out
Drives truck in a safe manner at all times, always wearing safety belt.
Complete customer deliveries in a professional timely manner.
Receives verbal orders in a professional manner.
Report maintenance problems to the Operations Manager.
Keep in close contact with the shipping & receiving manager, assuring that the manager knows location at all times.
Follow all safety regulations and precautions.
Performs other related work as required.
Complete monthly preventative maintenance checklist
Qualifications:
Driver’s License Minimum Class A or CDL
Acceptable driving record.
Drug/Alcohol free
Availability to work long hours when needed and approved by manager.
Ability to lift heavy boxes
Ability to work in all types of weather.
