"Busser" is the term we use, but i's more of a server-support position with a lot of customer interaction. A great fit for someone who enjoys the hectic pace of a restaurant without the pressure of being a server. Minimum wage plus tips which comes out to about $17hr. We have a really focused hard working FOH crew right now and are looking for a joyful, observant person that will mesh with others.
Surrey's Café, is a great very busy neighborhood breakfast/lunch restaurant on Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District. We’ve been in operation for over 23 years and have quite the good reputation.
Duties include
bringing water to just seated customers
Taking simple coffee orders
clearing tables of dishes
constant filling up coffee and water
wiping and resetting tables
sidework, end of the day closing duties.
This job is fast paced and hectic, very busy but we are all a team and the goal is to make the customers happy. You must move fast on your feet and be able to follow our procedures. This is not a server position. It is a vital position that we respect.
We will also need you to occasionally be the host.
The hosting position is just that - as customers walk up you take their names and number in the party. You'll handle the seating of customers and good communication with the other workers We will totally ease you into this in time.
It's OK if you have little restaurant experience.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. 8am – 3:30pm (closed Tuesday and Wednesday)
Hourly wage $7.25 plus a percentage of the tips – averages out to about $17hr
You must be available on weekends and during festival and holiday times.
