It's seafood season & we're looking to expand our team. We're looking for hardworking, enthusiastic folks that are passionate about Gulf seafood & making memories. Porgy's Seafood Market is a fast paced counter service restaurant as well as retail market that sells only wild caught Gulf fish & shellfish. The team is small & mighty with positive energy & lots of drive to make our shop the best it can be & an important part of our city. We have been open a little over a year & business is steadily growing; with crawfish season hitting hard this year, we need more of us! All jobs are entry level & start at $15/hr + tips (which runs around $25/hr). Higher hourly available based on experience & responsibility. We are looking for people that are driven to learn, task-oriented (we always have a list of things to do) & can hustle while putting a smile on their face. We are looking to fill the following positions:
BOH/ Line Cook:
it's a one man line grilling & frying all types of fresh seafood
menu consists of po boys, salads, gumbo & other fish market specials
FOH/ Counter:
run register, communicate with guests, do FOH projects, make daiquiris & cocktails
be able to control a crowd & keep them having a good time
must be task oriented & enjoy completing a checklist & doing projects
Shuckers/ Fish Case:
good shucking skills & base knowledge of Gulf oysters & fish
responsible for opening/ closing fish case with attention to storing seafood properly
slicing & weighing seafood/ fish for customers
slicing & plating raw bar dishes
must have attention to detail & keep a very clean & tidy workspace
some interaction with guests will be required
