Piety and Desire Chocolate is currently expanding operations and seeking awesome people to join our team at both our retail café and our chocolate factory!

Please indicate in a cover letter whether you're applying for a FOH, BOH, or hybrid (both locations) position, along with desired hours and pay.

Café Position Duties/Aptitude:

-customer service: greeting, educating, assisting, and serving guests

-simple POS and register operations

-preparing café beverages

-typical café opening and closing and side duties

-handle food products safely and responsibly

-maintain café cleanliness and appearance

-initiative to perform known duties without instruction

-restocking products correctly by rotating stock

-amenable to receiving instruction and correction

-ability to multi-task

-mainting a positive attitude

-experience working well under-pressure

-willingness to learn about- and convey knowledge of chocolate production

-ability to memorize and communicate product information

Chocolatier Position Duties/Aptitude:

-manufacturing chocolate (sorting and roasting beans, winnowing, loading and unloading chocolate machinery, tasting lots of chocolate)

-manufacturing confections (bars, bonbons, ganaches, caramels, etc)

-cleaning up after oneself and potentially others

-must be able to stand for a 6-8-hour shift and lift 50 pounds without hurting oneself

-must be an honest, descent, fun-loving human being who's able to work in a very sanitary manner in a very relaxed environment

-must love washing dishes, as that's half of the magic of chocolate-making!

-intrinsic motivation to perform one's duties

Requirements:

-culinary school training highly preferred for the chocolatier position, though strong culinary backgrounds (ie, many years in a highly professional environment) also considered

-High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational education

-ability to remain on one’s feet for an 8-hour shift

-possibly lifting over 25 lbs

-ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull

Compensation will be competitive and based on the expertise and skills shared with us.
