The Boeing Space Launch Systems (SLS) team is seeking aSenior Manufacturing Engineerlocated inNew Orleans, LA.The successful candidate will develop and implement production and tooling methodologies for our Space Launch Systems program.Position Responsibilities Include:Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplinesDevelop, identify and implement conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for buildImplement manufacturing plansConduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirementsAssist in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practicesAnalyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitionsResolve technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or scheduleCoordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and conceptsValidate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problemsImplement lean principles and technologiesThe position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asyleeBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry5+ years of experience establishing manufacturing build plans5+ years of experience with engineering drawings for conformance to materials & process requirements and manufacturing producibility5+ years of experience in CAD/CAM softwarePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Working knowledge of ME processes and procedures including Manufacturing Execution System Computer Aided Process Planning5+ years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production effortsTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Drug Free Workplace:Boeingis a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies .Shift:This position is for 1st shift.
