Description Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for a versatile Assistant Controller on behalf of a prominent nonprofit healthcare organization. Responsibilities

Assists Controller with overall financial affairs of the organization.

Assists in budget preparation, financial reporting, and variance analysis (budget vs. actual).

Analyzes profitability and performance against budget.

Assists in preparing monthly board reports, including a summary of business activity and financial position related to income, expenses, and past, present, and forecasted earnings.

Adheres to internal control procedures.

Assists in preparing of two (2) monthly close processes.

Assists in collecting external and internal audit materials.

Reviews payroll submission for accuracy as well as associated journal entries.

Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting documentation.

Accounts for State, Federal, and Private Grant funds received to ensure prompt reimbursement and accurate financial reporting.

Assists in completing annual Form 990.

Partners with external service providers to complete cost report.

Supports annual physical inventory process.

Requirements

Requirements

Bachelor of Accounting or Finance Degree required.

CPA or eligible, strongly preferred.

5 - 10 years of full cycle accounting experience.

Public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Healthcare experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication.

Ability to constructively cross-collaborate with other departments to resolve issues.

Must be able to operate independently and as an effective member of a team in equal measure.

Google Suite software knowledge.

Microsoft Office - Excel and PowerPoint (Advanced)
