As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will work as a member of our team, as a critical component of care to adults with severe mental illness, in their homes or in the community. You will work within a therapeutic team to help each client succeed in being able to live happy, successful, and productive lives, all while being able to stay integrated with the friends, family, and community.

In your role, you will provide support and the knowledge from your own lived-experiences of having a mental health diagnosis, to adults with a severe and persistent mental illness or emotional disturbance who are actively involved in mental health treatment and on their path to recovery. You will engage clients in their treatment and provide education, support, and community resource services to motivate their own recovery process. You will be provided regular supervision to aid in your own professional growth and development. This position includes client transportation using a company car, as needed and a one week on-call rotation every 7-10 weeks. On-call is handled virtually or in person, depending on the situation, and earns additional PTO. For optimal client success, you will meet with clients in the local community primarily, with some time spent in the office or via zoom/phone. Our Peer Support services promote hope, wellness, and recovery outcomes for clients and their natural support system.

What we’re looking for:

High School Diploma, GED, or higher

Previous personal, lived-experience with addiction, mental health diagnosis, or abuse and in recovery for at least 2 years. This position requires you to self-identify with clients to aid in their growth.

Certified as a Peer Support Specialist (or ability to become certified)

Valid state driver’s license in good standing
