SummaryThe Electrician/Mechanic will be responsible for performing needed preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility; bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, and exhibit strong leadership, planning and management skills.General Duties
Set up, adjust and maintain industrial production machinery.
Plan and conduct equipment upgrades and rebuilds.
Fabricate and repair all furnace fixtures and fabricate/purchase/install replacement parts as needed.
Design and fabricate new equipment as instructed by management.
Perform equipment repair involving furnace brick and high temperature insulation blanket.
Perform maintenance and repairs to vacuum furnace hot zone and manifold train.
Program and verification of parameters on temperature controllers.
Diagnostics and repair/replacement of temperature sensing and control instrumentation.
Diagnose and repair moderate electrical problems involving motors and electric furnace heaters.
Perform necessary electrical installations.
Maintain necessary records of repairs; enter completed work orders in computer.
Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
Operate all machine shop equipment.
Responsible for completing any task related to the electrical components of the machinery and equipment.
Responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with electrical equipment.
Perform all phases of welding, plasma cutting and welding repairs.
Support and train production personnel on how to operate the machinery safely.
In absence of Maintenance Manager assumes responsibility as Maintenance Supervisor.
Provides limited supervision and guidance to Mechanic Grade B.
Education and Experience
Minimum High School diploma or GED with a 2-Year Technical Degree or Equivalent Experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing preferably in Metal Related Industry or heat treating.
Qualifications
Knowledge of shop mathematics.
Knowledge of blueprint and electrical reading.
PLC
Forklift operation.
Crane operation.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others.
Supervisory Skils
Must be able to analyze relevant Electrical Systems and use deductive reasoning to figure out what part of the system is causing it to malfunction.
