Description Robert Half is seeking a hands on, dynamic Controller for our growing Northshore construction client. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the financial operations of the organization, collaborating closely with internal teams, and managing financial reporting, audits, and strategic planning.Responsibilities: Oversee financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, work-in-process/job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. Provide financial insights and recommendations for capital investments, pricing, and contract negotiations. Ensure accuracy and adherence to financial standards through oversight of job auditing, internal audits, and corporate financials. Lead a team fostering a positive and productive work environment. Serve as a liaison between departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Monitor financial performance, calculate variances from budgets, and recommend benchmarks. Effectively manage competing demands in a dynamic environment and adapt to changes seamlessly. Maintain confidentiality while remaining open to other’s ideas and exhibiting willingness to try new things. Prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, and monitor own work to ensure quality. Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demandsRequirements Must possess advanced knowledge and experience in Financial Reporting Proficiency in WIP - Work In Progress is required Must have a strong background in Budgeting Proficient in Forecasting and Cash Management Must have experience with Audit Compliance A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required A professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required Needs to be able to work independently and as part of a team Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential Prior experience in the Construction/Contractor industry is preferred Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneouslyFor confidential consideration, contact Hayley Euper or apply today!
