Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.Position Purpose:Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment used in operations, including backhoes, dozers, and front end loaders, used in earth moving operations and/or industrial settings. Work duties may require minor mechanical maintenance and repairs.Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

Ability to operate heavy, power driven equipment to increase efficiency and productivity

Maintain and repair heavy, power driven equipment

Ability to clearly and concisely communicate site conditions or changes in conditions to management/supervisor

Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background:

A High School Diploma or equivalent

3 to 4 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power driven equipment

Maintenance requirements of heavy, power driven equipment

Methods used in general construction and maintenance work

Understanding of occupational hazards and safe work practices

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

Local City or County Heavy Equipment Certification
