Job Description: Network Administrator 1 / Net Ops Specialist Location: Fort JohnsonDCWF Code: 441 (Network Operations Specialist)Clearance Level: Secret; must be eligible for T5 investigationCompliance: DOD 8140Position Overview: The Network Administrator 1 / Net Ops Specialist at Fort Johnson is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring network security, reliability, and efficiency while adhering to Department of Defense (DOD) standards. The specialist will work closely with a team of IT professionals to provide seamless network operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement network improvements.Key Responsibilities:

Network Management: Administer and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor network performance, identify and resolve network issues, and ensure minimal downtime.

Security Compliance: Ensure network operations are in compliance with DOD 8140 standards and other applicable regulations, including implementing and maintaining security protocols.

Configuration Management: Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to network devices to maintain security and operational efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configuration files, and incident reports.

Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects and initiatives.

User Support: Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues and ensure prompt resolution.

Disaster Recovery: Participate in the development and implementation of network disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration or a related field.

Certifications: Must meet DOD 8140 requirements, including relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.

Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret Clearance.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in network management tools, protocols, and technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, VPNs, firewalls).

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle complex network issues.

Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
