- Develops and implements strategy; drives continuous improvement in PSM and RMP systems, programs, and training
- Serves as central resource; ensures consistency in PSM and RMP practices and approach
- Provides guidance to companies, subsidiaries, and other facilities at assigned complex; identifies appropriate critical PSM activities; ensures compliance with applicable requirements
- Uses team based approach to develop PSM and RMP programs for advising and monitoring compliance with all applicable Federal, state and local regulations and general industry standards within this functional area
- Applies appropriate principles and technology to process and operational PSM programs
- Serves as senior technical advisor; drives continuous improvement in PSM and RMP programs and practices
- Ensures maintenance of PSM and RMP related documentation; archives for future use
- Anticipates, identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices; corrects or notifies management for correction as appropriate
- Audits and evaluates effectiveness of PSM and RMP programs
- Participate in and/or lead incident investigations related to PSM/RMP-covered processes. Ensure that root causes are properly identified and appropriately addressed.
- Develops and assists with implementation of facility PSM and RMP systems, policies, procedures, and training
- Tracks and communicates regulatory changes; ensures compliance with applicable regulations including statues, regulations, agency letters of interpretation, and pertinent industry codes and standards and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP)
- Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates key performance indicators to relevant levels of management and operations
- Benchmarks systems, culture, and performance against industry standards; identifies, develops and prioritizes process safety and risk mitigation initiatives
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety
- Performs other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this position
- 3+ years' experience working in a PSM covered industry
- Experience working with and proven understanding of various governmental regulations, specifically OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations
- B.S. in chemical or process engineering, or related field required
- Formal training including
- Leader of risk assessment such as PHA, LOPA, SIL, human factors, MOC, and PSSR
- TapRoot root cause analysis
