Our Lake Charles, LA site is hiring a Human Resource (HR) Manager to provide HR support and be an active member of the leadership team. You will report to the Director, HR and Labor Relations, Gulf Region and have a HR Generalist reporting to you. As the HR Manager, you will drive organizational capability within the site to help Grace meet growth and productivity goals, along with leading and executing critical HR processes for talent acquisition and management, employee development, and succession planning. You will have primary responsibility for site-based labor and employee relations activities and participate. In addition, you will participate in plant audits and conduct tours, therefore, you will be required to be in and walk in the plant, along with wearing appropriate PPE. Responsibilities
Participates and supports site safety programs and initiatives to ensure GOAL ZERO is a reality.
Partner with Site and Operations leaders to develop organizational strategies to achieve Grace’s business goals and growth strategies.
Provide leadership, guidance, and counsel to leaders on matters related to talent, organizational change, labor and employee relations, engagement and communications.
Ensure alignment with HR global and regional strategies and drives the implementation of those strategies.
Align with the HR service delivery model and coordinates regularly with the HR Centers of Excellence to deliver high quality services for employees, with focus on effective payroll, benefits administration, talent management and development practices.
Promote and deliver on initiatives to drive a positive culture and workforce climate at the site.
Prepare for and participate in union contract negotiations process to achieve a successful agreement that ensures manufacturing continuity and delivers on business objectives.
Guides and administers grievance administration, working to minimize or resolve at lowest possible level. Prepares for arbitrations and other dispute responses to unions and government agencies.
Utilizes HR and business systems to administer programs, analyze data and workforce trends.
Physical RequirementsMust be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respiratorRequired Qualifications
B.S. Degree in HR Management, Business, or related field.
8+ years HR experience with increasing levels of responsibility, to include at least 3 years of working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working in union environment with labor relations, contract administration and negotiations.
Demonstrated experience with driving employee engagement and positive employee relations with all levels of a manufacturing operation.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels in the manufacturing plant, plus corporate business teams and HR Centers of Excellence.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead changes that positively impact operational challenges and opportunities.
Experience using HR systems (SuccessFactors, preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or MBA
CLRP certification
