BluePearl Pet Hospital in Lafayette, CO is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department!$1,000 sign-on bonus for qualified RVT with anesthesia skills and on-call rotation availability 2-3 years experience required. Come work at a hospital where you can gain experience, have fun, and make a difference!Veterinary Technician I (CVT) Pay: $23.35 / hour - $33.60 / hourThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system .We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.For example:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will
Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg,etc.).
Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up andassistwith endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean andmaintainequipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Additionaljob duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Internal Medicine experience preferred.
2-3 years veterinary technician experience required.
Certified/Licensed Technician required.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
