Controls Engineer- Lafayette, INDescription:This leading client is an automotive manufacturer in Lafayette, IN. Around 1,600 vehicles are produced everyday with around 341,000 projected for 2023. As a Controls Engineer with this company, you will hold a variety of responsibilities. These responsibilities will predominantly support new project launches which will include bringing in new capital projects and/or retrofitting existing equipment to specification. In addition to project launches, you can expect to occasionally support the production floor if there are major issues resulting in delayed production. Job responsibilities:
Will be working on optimizing processes and automation equipment for new model launches
Design electrical systems for machinery- (AutoCAD, Solidworks or CATIA)
Electrical schematic design
Troubleshooting, modifying, and Programming PLC’s and HMI’s (mainly Mitsubishi with some Allen Bradley)
Will be working with industrial Networking systems (DeviceNet, TCP/IP, Uniwire)
Integration and programming of Robotic systems
Assisting with Mechanical Systems Design: Ability to read and understand product and equipment mechanical drawings and dimensions.
Solid experience troubleshooting, modifying, and specifying mechanical systems.
Experience with pneumatic piping and control systems. Exposure to air, water, and hydraulic utilities.
MS Office utilization and MS Project
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
3+ years of professional controls experience
PLC Programming experience (ability to write new PLC programs from scratch & make modifications to current code)
Project Management experience (qualify and define project specifications, manage a budget, manage detailed daily schedule, etc.)
