The POST (Process Operation & Security Team) within ESS (Energy & Sustainability Solutions) IT designs, implements, and operates state-of-the-art networks and infrastructure for process operations and security of distributed control systems (DCS)for our chemical facilities. We work with core and emerging technologies to deliver scalable, high-performing, always available infrastructure that connects, hosts, virtualize, stores, collaborates, integrates, compute and transact business information utilizing local, edge and cloud technologies. The Network Engineer is to be in the greater Baton Rouge area and will be responsible for project and operational support of network infrastructure for ESS ISC Plant Control Networks (PCNs). This position is full-time remote as the candidate will be supporting all networks globally, but they will need to maintain safety protocols and have frequent visits to the Geismar, Louisiana plant. Key Responsibilities

Configuration and management of switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices to ensure reliable and secure connectivity between machines and control systems.

Monitoring of network performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other teams to optimize the manufacturing process.

Key skills for this role include knowledge of industrial control systems, networking protocols, and cybersecurity best practices.

Support implementation of new technology stacks and migration of workloads from on-prem to hybrid cloud or pure cloud

Participate in calls with other members to address and troubleshoot applications and/or infrastructure related issues.

Travel up to 20%, to our chemical facilities to perform support or project related work on equipment in a manufacturing environment.

YOU MUST HAVE

3+ years of experience as a network engineer with Checkpoint & Cisco hardware (or equivalent)

3+ years of experience of demonstrated network troubleshooting.

2+ years of experience with Visio or similar for creating networking diagrams.

2+ years of experience with dashboarding or analytics experience with network KPIs and logs

WE VALUE

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Experience with support of Network infrastructure such as Cisco & Juniper

Experience with support of IT/OT systems, including network implementation & segmentation, PLC’s and field devices, and IT systems

VMWare and Basic Windows troubleshooting experience

Excellent oral, written and collaborative communication skills

Skilled in partnering with internal customers at all levels to define problems, identify solutions, and facilitate change

The ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements

Strong interpersonal skills - effective listening and teaming

Self-motivated with a demonstrated bias for action
