This is a key role on the corporate ESS HSE Process Safety Group.In this position, you will be a process safety professional in the Health Safety & Environment (HSE) function in the Energy & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) business unit. This position reports directly to the ESS Director of Process Safety. You will enable successful process safety performance and operational excellence across the enterprise and specifically at the Geismar, Louisiana site. You will accomplish this by collaborating with the process safety network and establishing strong working relationships with the employees at the site. You will be a key process safety resource by implementing sustainable programs through integration of process safety best practices and continuous improvement of the process safety management program. The position is located in the Geismar, Louisiana area.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Safety Management (PSM):
Develop and maintain Process Safety Management programs in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Conduct regular audits and assessments of chemical processes to proactively identify potential process safety risks.
Analyze data from process safety metrics and incident reports to improve PSM practices.
Risk Assessment and Analysis:
Implement hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), layer of protection analysis (LOPA) and quantitative risk assessments (QRA) to identify high-risk areas.
Develop and implement process hazards analysis (PHA) recommendations to reduce risk and improve operational reliability.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Lead incident learning / investigations of process safety events, loss of containment, and near-miss events to identify root causes and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations for management review.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical safety and environmental impact.
Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and guidelines, and adjust PSM programs accordingly.
Training and Development:
Develop and deliver training programs for employees on internal process safety standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Mentor young professionals and personnel in PSM methodologies and compliance standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with site and corporate operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to enhance process safety awareness and practices across all levels of the organization.
Facilitate meetings and workshops to promote a safety-first culture within the organization.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of process safety performance and overall operational excellence.
Utilize technical expertise and industry knowledge to propose innovative solutions to safety challenges.

5-10 years of experience with Process Safety and Risk Management
WE VALUE
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP
Familiarity with data analytics and key performance indicators
Familiarity with human performance / human factors
Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) certification
Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Certification
Exposure to Honeywell Operating System
Good Microsoft Office skills
Good English communication
Proficiency in HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, and QRA
Familiarity with PHAST, SaferOne
Strong team leadership and project management capabilities
