Pay Range: $20-$32/hr (Depending on Experience)

Position Summary:
An Electrician installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard vessels and in shipyard facilities. The duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the scope of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams
Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, and power tools
Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices
Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems
Qualifications:
Experience:
o Minimum 1 year of experience in a variety of electrical situations
Skills:
o Exceptional communication and customer service skills
o Strong understanding of wiring, circuits and other electrical components
o Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems
o Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
o Effective time management
o Strong work ethic
o Understanding of local and national codes, regulations and safety procedures
o Ability to read blueprints and technical documents

Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks and lift heavy components

The ability to respond to dangerous situations
Must not exceed 280 pounds for the safety of employees (PFPE requirement)
