Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator (Lathe) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines to produce high-precision parts. You will ensure that machines run efficiently, troubleshoot any issues, and maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Set Up and Program CNC Machines: Set up and program CNC lathe machines to meet specific production requirements.
Machine Operation: Operate CNC machines to fabricate parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders while ensuring precision and accuracy.
Cutting to Specifications: Use the CNC lathe to cut, shape, and finish materials to precise specifications.
Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, ensuring they are clean, lubricated, and functioning optimally.
Interpret Technical Drawings: Review technical drawings, blueprints, and samples to ensure parts are produced correctly, maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
Ensure Proper Programming: Verify and adjust machine programming to ensure it aligns with the design specifications. Make necessary changes to improve production quality and efficiency.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications, and report any defects or issues.
Collaboration and Reporting: Work with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and report any issues with machinery or production processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in reading and interpreting technical drawings and machine programming.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of CNC lathe machines, their operations, and the mechanical components involved in the machining process.
Technical Knowledge: Proficient in CNC programming languages, machine setup, and operation, with knowledge of safety standards and protocols.
Programming Skills: Ability to write and adjust CNC programs as required, ensuring optimal machine performance.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, able to identify and address machine issues or discrepancies in parts.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management to ensure smooth production processes.
Preferred Experience:
Proven experience operating and programming CNC lathe machines.
Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
Certification in CNC machining or a related technical field is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry parts or materials as necessary.
Comfortable working in a production environment, standing for extended periods and handling machinery.
