Local Business Hiring Wastewater and Water Operators
Job Description:
We are seeking wastewater and water operators to join our team. As an operator, you will perform skilled work in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient operation of the plant, making routine adjustments to equipment and machinery, and exercising independent judgment in accordance with established procedures. Training will be provided to qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, motors, grinders, and cleaning screens.
Collect wastewater samples and perform required tests to ensure system efficiency.
Conduct basic preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, for emergency response.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in water/wastewater systems operation, plumbing or electrical.
Working knowledge of machinery preventive maintenance and repair.
Valid Louisiana Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Plumbing, mechanical, or electrical experience preferred.
TWIC/OSHA preferred but not required.
LDHH certification for wastewater and water operations (preferred but not required, must be willing to get certifications within one year of employment after training)

Schedule:
Full-time position with 8-hour shifts.
Participation in on-call rotations for emergencies.
