These officers enforce state and local laws and ordinances, conduct frequent security patrols, investigate crimes, and prevent and deter unlawful activity.HeadquartersPatrol– Officers assigned to these duties conduct proactive police patrols of the Louisiana State Police Headquarters compound. Officers enforce state and local laws and ordinances, conduct proactive traffic and criminal enforcement, investigate crimes, and prevent and deter unlawful activity. In addition, officers provide security to the hundreds of employees who work on the compound, as well as monitoring the offenders that are working on the compound.State Police Barracks– Officers assigned to theses duties provide care, custody and control of the offenders housed at the State Police Barracks. They transport them to and from their daily job assignments, hospital trips, funeral trips, etc. During visitation and special events they interact with the family and friends of the offenders.
