• The Department desires to update its current website with the latest technologies to improve security, usability, and functionality.
• Current technologies used are .Net, Drupal, HTML 5 and SharePoint
• The resources mentioned here must be proficient in current and future technologies including but not limited to Chef, Puppet Ansible, Salt, etc. and experience working with the United States Web Design System (USWDS) frameworks.
• Meet with LDAF staff to determine the scope of a project
• Advise LDAF on strategies to reach a particular audience
• Determine the message the design should portray
• Create images that identify a product or convey a message
• Develop graphics for logos and websites
• Select colors, images, text style, and layout
• Present the design to LDAF
• Incorporate changes recommended by LDAF into the final design
• Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
• Ensure that coding standards are met, optimizing the web architectures for navigability and accessibility
• Utilize specialized graphic design software to prepare designs
• Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
• Plan site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality
• Develop site navigation by categorizing content, funneling traffic through content
• Develop site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, related site enhancements
• Establish locate-ability by registering with search engines
• Maintain site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submission
