Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Required Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ related experience and/or training in Grant Writing, Grant Management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in performing tasks.

Dedicated to and appreciate the concept of the community college.

Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills.

Highly attentive to detail.

Strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university

5-7 years related experience and/or training in Grant Writing and Grant Management (i.e., budgeting federal funds for programs and activities; annual performance reporting; knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, etc.)

Job ConceptsThe Grants Administrator at BRCC will lead the development and administration of external grants, working with faculty and staff to build capacity and secure funding aligned with the college’s strategic priorities. This role involves researching and identifying grant opportunities, guiding principal investigators in proposal development, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The administrator will also manage the grant lifecycle, from submission to reporting, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and funding agencies.

Provide leadership oversight for the development and administration of all externally funded grants and the entire pre- and post-grant functions in support of BRCC’s strategic priorities.

Build capacity among faculty and staff by providing training, newsletters, and other resources that empower them to initiate and pursue grants, contributing to the growth of BRCC's grant portfolio.

Research and identify external grant funding from federal, state, corporate, and private foundation funding sources.

Collaborate with BRCC faculty and or administration to design, write, edit and submit all grant proposals and budgets to federal, state, local government agencies and private foundations.

Assist principal investigators in developing their ideas into grant proposals by guiding them through the process of formulating these ideas into competitive grant formats to secure external funding.

Build a system and maintain records of grant due dates, grants submitted, active projects, funding needed and potential funding sources to meet performance metrics.

Develop, implement, and manage internal project processes to ensure compliance with relevant College and grant-related rules and regulations. (i.e., eligibility, purchasing, equipment inventory, closing documents).

Build critical relationships with college leadership, faculty, staff, and funding agencies staff.

Explain often complex federal/state guidelines and policies to stakeholders implementing grants so that they fully understand grant requirements, responsibilities, and processes.

Participate in continuous improvement and professional development to grow and strengthen leadership skills.

Perform any other duties assigned that support the mission and strategic initiatives of Baton Rouge Community College.
