Supplemental InformationPosition: Engineer Intern Applicant – Engineer 5Agency: Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) Division: Operations – Baton Rouge Office Location: 150 Terrace Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70802For recruitment purposes, applicants who are within 90 days of graduating with an Engineering degree will be allowed to apply for this position. Responsibilities:
Provides technical support to the Coastal Levee Boards and other Flood Control Entities in developing and implementing the coastal area levee inspection and evaluation program
Use of specialized technical engineering functions (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Hydraulics, etc.)
Conducts hurricane damage assessments and periodic on-site inspections of levees, floodwalls and associated infrastructure using specialized inspection equipment
Reviews design reports, plans and specifications
Monitors, maintains and updates project files and folders
Drafts correspondence directed to private owners, consulting engineers, local state and federal government agencies
