[Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill 1 vacancy in the Parks and Recreation department and future vacancies as they occur to perform technical tasks as a lead member of a crew on an assigned shift performing various maintenance, sanitation, landscape, and litter removal tasks in support of the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Alexandria. [Oversees and participates in ballpark maintenance tasks; drags and aerates fields; paints foul lines; replaces dirt; edges infield and outfield grass; chalks field lines; repairs fencing; trims trees; replaces bases; cuts sod along base paths, infields and warning tracks; installs plates, bases and pitching rubbers; relocates bleachers. High School diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance, general repair tasks, parks and grounds maintenance and routine landscape tasks and experience in the operation of equipment used in landscaping and grounds maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Will be required to obtain and maintain specialized certifications and/or training as deemed necessary.

Must possess a valid drivers license.

Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana drivers license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.

Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana Class D drivers license within 60 days of hire.
