1ST SHIFT Machine Operator (Shelbyville, KY)

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for operating and monitoring bagging or boxes machines which label raw bulk product into finished goods according to established operating procedures. Packaging responsibilities will primarily be in ESP, DLT, or DLTW, workstations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Verify quality of raw bulk product received from vendors.

Set required count or weigh count for scale (tare)

Enter control number into either label printer or computer.

Verify that the label information is correctly printed.

Count individual finished good units to be shipped out to customer facing DC’s.

Operator will be required to occasionally dump stock into hoppers to achieve daily production.

Maintain work area with a surplus of totes, reflectors, boxes, and tote liners.

Communicate with team lead regarding shortages or overages of material.

Actively participate in LEAN and process improvement activities.

Actively participate in general housekeeping activities.

Assist with periodic inventory activities.

Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

High School diploma or equivalent

Must be able to read and write in English.

Must be able to maintain production standards for 2 weeks on all machine workstations.

Neat and legible handwriting.

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals with or without hand-held calculators.

Must be able to lift/carry 50 lb totes frequently.

Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time
