Position:
Forklift Operator and Material Handler
Staff Management | SMX is currently hiring Material Handler/Forklift Operators for our client in Jeffersonville, IN. As a Staff Management | SMX Associate you will be loading and unloading freight while on a forklift as part of a production team. The 8 to 10-hour shifts run Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime throughout the week. (Note: Resume or detailed work history in application preferred, but not required)
Job Responsibilities:
Position includes the operation of basic forklifts in the handling of products. Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner, recording all necessary paperwork. Adheres to all safety and work rules and performs other duties as assigned. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, and shipping of products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality.
Forklift experience required. All associates must be able to lift to 40 lbs. regularly, be able to stand for long periods of time, and 6 months experience driving a forklift. Effective communication is important to the productions process and associates will be expected to be able to record production data. Associates will be working in a manufacturing and production environment. This includes exposure to excessive noise, fumes, and dust particles.
