Our CompanyBrightSpring Health Services OverviewThis Accounting Director – HomeHealth, Hospice position is responsible for accounting activities related to Month-end Close and financial reporting, account analysis and documentation for BrightSpring Health Services operations. Responsibilities
Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual audit requirements
Supervises accounting staff of 3-5 associates
Reviews and approves reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items
Coordinates the monthly accrual process with field operations for certain vendors
Oversees maintenance of systems and controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data
Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes, ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization
Maintains relationships with internal and external auditors
Reports to management on variances from the established budget and the reasons for those variances
Ensures that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis
Communicates key information to top executive management
Leads and directs work of others
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Seven to ten years in Accounting, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role required
CPA preferred
Knowledge of general accounting and US GAAP required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and related accounting software required
Outstanding financial reporting and analytical skills required
Knowledge of internal and external audit requirements required
Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment required
Knowledge of Oracle preferred
