With our combined resources CommonSpirit is committed to building healthy communities advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable and innovating how and where healing can happen both inside our hospitals and out in the community.ResponsibilitiesThis position is eligible for up to a $3,000 sign-on bonusPerforms a variety of routine tasks to support the delivery of safe, effective, cost-efficient patient care as delegated bythe RN. They provide assistance in transporting, transferring and lifting. They perform cleaning Functions in patient careunit as delegated, and perform selected diagnostic tests.ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff

Monitors and records vital signs

Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs

Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output

Obtains and records daily weight

Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Reports changes in patient’s status promptly to RN

Performs as patient care companion when needed

Assists in the admission, transfer and discharge process

Performs unit housekeeping needs

Acts as a runner/transporter

Checks and documents refrigerator temperatures as delegated, reporting variances to appropriate personnel

Updates assigned bed status

Maintains a safe environment by responding to all bed alarms, call lights, telephones and alerting the correct

person.

Keeps patient environment clean, performs comfort rounds, keeps hallways clear of obstruction, no food or

drink at the workstation, reports safety issues and broken equipment appropriately, and adheres to patientsafety precautions

Communicates with patient’s family, physicians, and unit personnel and peers in an accurate, courteous, and

professional manner

Other duties as assigned by manager

QualificationsRequired Education:

High School Diploma, GED or SRNA.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

BLS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilitiesand Training:

Healthcare experience preferred
