Storm Window Installer with some carpentry background
Qualifications
Working knowledge of standard materials, and tools of the carpentry/window installation and repairs trade
Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools and standard measuring tools
Work at height from ladders, lifts or scaffold up to 3 stories (2 stories minimum)
Drivers license with no accidents/violations in past 3 years.
If our preferred applicant lacks experience in our specialty trade, we will train.
Responsibilities
Measure for and Install custom made storm windows and restored window sash and related hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
Train in the Repair of historic structures
Train in the Restoration trade repairing wood building elements as in Epoxies, Dutchman repairs
Some copper flashing work
Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
Operate and maintain hand and field power tools (incl. oscillating multi-tool, circular saw, hand planer, sanding tools)
Smooth, shape, and prepare surfaces for finishing, using sandpaper, chisels, sanders, or grinders
Brush, spray, or hand rub finishing materials such as oil, stain, or wax, into wood grain
Maintain productivity, efficient time management, is reliable and demonstrates initiative
Maintains organized work environment, neat and clean
Our area of operations is primarily Louisville, Cincinnati and the Bluegrass region of KY. Regular travel to throughout our region is generally by company vehicle. Occasionally work is shifted to evenings and/or weekends, to meet project deadlines.
