Assists in cancer registry operations
Performs data entry
Work distribution and examine medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry database according to established guidelines.
Performs abstracting activities by efficiently and accurately abstracting cancer registry data from the medical record.
Collects, calculates, analyzes, interprets and presents numerical data related to cancer occurrence, case management and outcome measures
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceAssociates of Applied Science (AAS) or equivalent education as required to sit for certification
Experience in coding or transcription
Required Licensure and CertificationsCTR - within 24 monthsRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of Cancer Registry software systems.
