You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to understand that we have some wonderful days and get to be with people through huge milestones in their lives. We also have some hard days and are with people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding to different circumstances. Above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency. A newborn's status can change quickly and it’s never good for the mother or family to see the nurse in a panic. You’re calm. You’re in control. You’re handling the situation.
